We import hard coal from Kazakhstan. It is mined by the open-pit method from relatively young geological deposits. It is characterized by high calorific value of 24-26 MJ/kg, low ash content, i.e. non-flammable mineral substance, and low level of sulfur, which causes most inconvenience when burning. From the assortment available in Kazakhstan, we select coal with low sinterability, pre-sorted even before shipment. Some of the goods undergo an enrichment process, that is, removal of impurities in the form of waste rock. We make sure that the transport of coal to Poland and its processing in the country causes the least degradation of the inherently fragile raw material. We have reduced the number of handling operations to the necessary minimum, thanks to which the coal marketed contains a high percentage of coarse and medium commodity fractions.
